One of the best things about retirement is that you finally have all the time you need to vacation. You have no job that makes you cut your vacation short. After you are retired, you can take all the time you want to see the world. You can cross destinations off your bucket list as you see all the wonderful vacation spots the world has to offer. If you are looking for some amazing vacation destinations, here are ten remarkable places to travel during your retirement.
There aren’t a lot of places left in the United States that are truly wild, but Alaska is full of them. One of the best ways to see Alaska is to take a cruise. You can see the beautiful scenery as you cruise up the coast of Alaska, and you will make stops along the way to get into the interior and see the abundant wildlife and natural beauty.
2. The Caribbean
If you have never had the pleasure of seeing the turquoise beauty and powder-white sands of the Caribbean, you must make it one of your vacation destinations during your retirement. There are dozens of islands that you can explore in the Caribbean. The Bahamas, St. Croix, Grand Cayman and St. Thomas are all highly recommended. To avoid crowds and get great deals, head to the Caribbean in an offseason month like May or September.
Experiencing the majesty of Machu Picchu alone makes a trip to Peru worthwhile. However, there is a lot more to do in Peru than just see ruins. There are beautiful mountains and glaciers. There are incredible beaches on the Pacific Coast. You can explore the Amazon. Lima is a modern city with some of the best restaurants in the world. Best of all, your money will go far during a vacation in Peru.
No matter your age, everyone loves a trip to Hawaii. The weather is gorgeous all year. The top beaches in Hawaii are beautiful. The scenery is spectacular. The islands are set up to cater to tourists. There are loads of fun activities to do like surfing, hiking, swimming, snorkeling or simply laying out on the beach.

The abundance of French speakers makes it feel like you are on a European vacation without leaving North America. San Francisco offers plenty of tourist attractions and fantastic food. A visit to Napa Valley is a must for wine lovers. San Diego has perfect weather year-round, great beaches and Sea World. Northern California offers incredible natural beauty, including the spectacular redwood forests. You could spend years exploring California and not get bored.
You probably have a trip to Italy on your bucket list. The food and wine alone make a vacation in Italy spectacular. You also have loads of beautiful artwork, architecture and history to enjoy when you take a trip to the boot-shaped paradise. Be sure to explore both the cities and the countryside to get a well-rounded Italian experience.
If you are looking for an exotic destination that will blow you away, think about taking a trip to Japan. It is a land of extremes. You can see some of the most modern technology and architecture next door to temples that are thousands of years old. The Japanese people are always very welcoming and helpful to visitors. Also, most Japanese people speak at least basic English because they are taught it in school.

There are lots of reasons to take a vacation to South Africa. If you have ever dreamed of going on a safari, South Africa is the perfect destination. In addition to all the exotic wildlife, the scenery in the countryside is gorgeous. The weather is wonderful almost every day of the year. There are nearly 2,000 miles of coastline to explore. For golf lovers, South Africa is packed with some of the best golf courses in the world. In addition, a vacation in South Africa is very affordable.
10. Southeast Asia
A trip to Southeast Asia is a great idea for retirees. First of all, vacations in this part of world are extremely inexpensive. Whether you go to Vietnam, Cambodia or Thailand, you will be able to enjoy world-class beaches. There are lots of historical destinations to see like Angkor Wat in Cambodia or the Cu Chi Tunnels used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. Food lovers will be blown away by all the delicious cuisine in this part of the world. Southeast Asia is so inviting that you may come for a vacation and decide to stay, as many retirees have done.
